Ellen Hongo is the
founder of GroupWorX, LLC. She has over fifteen years of business consulting
experience in the areas of knowledge management, organizational change
management, business strategy and process reengineering. Ms. Hongo has done
extensive work in the design and implementation of knowledge management
solutions; she brings significant global and cross-cultural project experience.
She has led numerous consulting projects ranging from strategy definition to
large-scale global implementation.
Professional Highlights:
- Led the implementation of a worldwide knowledge
management solution for a $5B division of a high tech company. The project
included the realignment of it's business
strategy to capitalize on the organization's knowledge assets; redesign of
core work processes and people processes; and the implementation of
worldwide IT enablers to support the management of the organization's
intellectual capital. Project teams have achieved a 20% improvement on
delivery times.
- Partnered with internal client consultants of a major
laser printer manufacturer to develop a strategy for the design and
implementation of a value delivery system for a major product division.
The strategy aligned the flow of customer knowledge and information from
the customer through sales, marketing, customer
support and product development. She developed an implementation plan that
included process redesign, role/skill capabilities, knowledge
infrastructure, and metric, reward and financial system alignment.
- Led a team that performed an assessment and strategy
design for the implementation of knowledge management processes and
technology to support the product development process for a major computer
company. This project contributed to a 35% reduction in product
development time.
- Led a worldwide team that implemented knowledge
management processes at a leading international management-consulting
firm. This initiative enabled parallel project implementation rather than
sequential, reducing calendar time by 35% and labor requirements by 20%. .
Ms. Hongo received her M.Sc. in International Business Management from U.S.
International University and her B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She previously held positions
at IBM Global Services and Gemini Consulting.

Lynnea
Johnson is the President and co-owner of GroupWorX, LLC. Ms. Johnson has more
than 20 years experience in the design and implementation of strategic planning,
business management, and product development processes. She is a recognized
expert in conducting post-project reviews as a means of assessing systemic
planning and development issues. She partners with clients to develop planning
and product development processes to address those issues and build the
client's competency to forge into new areas of application once the program is
delivered. She also specializes in executive coaching in the areas of strategic
planning and product development processes, and performance coaching in
general.

Highlights:
- Partnered with executives in
a Fortune 500 technology company, which has dramatically changed its
business model in the past six years, to design and implement process
improvement initiatives, focusing on development frameworks and related
processes for strategic and product planning, strategic partnerships,
product development, developer support, and customer support. These
initiatives resulted in more formalized planning and control processes
that allowed these areas to function effectively in a significantly more
complex business environment, resulting in reduced time to market and more
efficient use of resources.
- Highlights from this
partnership include:
- Conducted more than two dozen
post-project reviews at executive request. These reviews are credited with
galvanizing company leadership to design and implement business unit and
company-wide change to align process capability and company culture with
the new business model. They are considered a must-have in the
company today.
- Redesigned the product
development process to focus on high-return process improvements in the
early phases to reduce development churn in later phases.
- Redesigned the executive
decision making processes to bridge business planning processes with early
product development phases to ensure clear requirements and program
boundaries to speed program development and ensure that product roadmaps
are aligned with program objectives.
- In partnership with a company
executive and product development leaders in a Fortune 1000 company,
redesigned and implemented a product development framework and
accompanying processes, which focused on early product definition, risk
analysis, and baseline change management. The result was credited
with significantly streamlining product development and reducing time to
market.
- Responsible for the creation
of Apple Computer's software development process and its merger with the
hardware process to ensure a consistent company-wide global program, which is still in existence today.
- Designed and implemented a
project portfolio approach to strategic planning that allowed a 200
million dollar division to tie project planning to strategic initiatives
in order to manage trade-offs.
- Led a team of executives to
design a framework for merging advanced technology into the product
development process.
- Responsible for building a
cross-functional, cross-organizational project management competency in
Apple Computer's software division.

Carol Anglin is a
Managing Principal with GroupWorX, LLC. She has over twenty years of business
and consulting experience. Her work focuses on designing and implementing
change management and knowledge management strategies that result in optimizing
the effectiveness of distributed workforces. Dr. Anglin has extensive
experience in defining user adoption strategies, knowledge management methods, creative
instructional design, global implementation, cross-cultural communication and
managing virtual teams. She has consulted in the United
States, England,
France, Japan, Saudi
Arabia, Brazil,
Switzerland, and Hong Kong in a variety of industries including high
technology, advertising, pharmaceuticals, finance, retail and petroleum.
Professional Highlights:
- Led the led the organizational strategy for an $11B
company in the staffing industry as part of an enterprise portal project.
- Designed change management and communication
strategies for the implementation of a corporate-wide document management
system.
- Led the strategy and process definition for a newly
formed consulting arm of a $4B retail company. She defined organizational
roles; designed the implementation; created the marketing plan; and, wrote
the instructional model for the business-to-business collaborative
workspace project.
- Worked with a major high technology company and its
lead advertising agency to redesign the global advertising process so that
140 worldwide agencies could work interactively in a shared workspace.
This resulted in a reduction in the time-to-market of key advertising for
the high technology company as well as a new business-to-business strategy
for the advertising firm.
- Designed the communication strategy for the worldwide
knowledge management solution for a $5B division of a high technology
company.
- Co-published a unique knowledge management
methodology that includes course outlines, supporting materials and a
certification process.
- Developed programs to transfer consulting change
skills to over 300 managers across seven countries; implemented
communication strategies across 16 countries; facilitated executive
long-term strategic planning sessions; and developed 100-day transition
plans for new global executives
- Developed sales training programs for a major
computer company used throughout Saudi Arabia
Dr. Anglin received her
doctorate in Organization and Leadership for the University of San Francisco.
She holds a M.A. Degree in Administration and a B.A Degree in Social Science.
She previously held positions at IBM Global Services and Gemini Consulting.

Brent Hewlett is a
Managing Principal with GroupWorX, LLC. He has over 25 years of experience in
all areas of Knowledge Management, Instructional Systems Design and Educational
Psychology. His work experience includes 25 years in the business and
government knowledge and human performance worlds and over 20 years as a
teacher and researcher in the university environment. Dr. Hewlett consults in
the areas of human performance and systems development. Specialty areas include
organizational performance analysis, competency and skills management, learning
and performance support design, design and development of distance learning,
measurement and evaluation, management of change, and knowledge management. Dr.
Hewlett is a recognized international lecturer and publisher in the areas of
Knowledge Management, Instructional Design, Distance Learning and Human
performance.
Professional Highlights:
- Worked with IBM senior executives to meet the
challenge of moving into the client server environment with new
applications. Dr. Hewlett identified executive tasks and then designed,
developed and delivered personal one-on-one training for the senior team.
The executives were able to acquire the new skills and capabilities in
record time with minimal work disruption.
- Worked with a team composed several consulting firms
in designing and developing interventions for a major beverage company
that had several business Reengineering projects
underway. The challenge of cooperation among the consulting firms was met
and a unique synergy emerged. Solutions developed for the new processes
provided savings for the company in several areas. In addition, other
sister divisions were able to capitalize on the original effort resulting
in additional enterprise benefits.
- Led a team that delivered a knowledge management and
distributed learning strategy organizational change elements for a large
medical school. The final report, including organizational change elements
required to implement the new strategy, was well received by the medical
school commander. The commander latter became the surgeon general.
- Led a worldwide team in the development of state-of
-the-art courseware development projects for the major aircraft
manufactures and leading a European consortium in the development of Ab-Initio (initial flight) training. Global standards
for Computer based training (AICC) where a product of this work.
- Established and managed business joint ventures in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to bring
new technology and advanced methods to the Gulf region. He conducted
technical analysis, developed multimedia projects, and brought unique
resources to the area resulting in both increased learning for the
targeted audiences and profitable business.
- Managed day-to-day operations as well as providing
strategic and tactical planning for an international training company
consisting of 120 professionals in 8 domestic and international offices.
- Led a team that delivered the first use of videodisk
technology for a State of Florida
medical function (in the early 1980's). The effectiveness and efficiency
of the programs resulted in shortened training times and significant
savings for the state system. The programs were later made into commercially
available materials returning additional revenue to the state.
Dr. Hewlett earned a
Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of Utah.
He specialized in the area of instructional media and faculty development and
received masters of education degree from Utah State University. He received the college
teaching fellowship from the Florida
State University
and was awarded a doctor of philosophy specializing in instructional systems
design and educational psychology.
